The Center for Not-for-Profit Law (CLNR)

is a Romanian nonprofit organization (association) founded in 2013, which specializes in providing research, advocacy and other related services to civil society organizations and citizens.

Our main objectives are

Strengthening the capacity of non-governmental organizations in Romania to identify and represent citizens' interests in respect to public authorities.

Increasing the level of NGOs’ and citizens’ civic engagement and participation in the processes of policy formulation and advancement.

Encouraging the social inclusion of vulnerable persons and the sustainability of nonprofit activities by stimulating social entrepreneurship among non-governmental organizations and people form disadvantaged socio-economic groups.

Promoting civic participation and the inclusion of vulnerable groups through formal and non-formal education.

FOUR TYPES OF INTERVENTION

Research, Advocacy and Information, Training and Consultancy

RESEARCH

Elaboration of research and public policy reports on topics related to: legal framework of non-governmental organizations, financing non-profit activities, policies for social inclusion and encouraging social enterprises.

ADVOCACY AND INFORMATION

Coalition building, developing campaigns for improving policies and the legal framework in various areas of public interest, as well as providing information on legislative initiatives and the legislation on the establishment, functioning and financing of nongovernmental organizations.

TRAINING

Providing training for civil society representatives and other relevant stakeholders on advocating for alternative public policies as well as using formal and non-formal education methods for encouraging civic engagement and the inclusion of vulnerable groups.

CONSULTANCY

Offering specialized and structured services of interpreting the legal framework on the establishment, functioning and financing of NGOs, as well as expert assistance tailored to the particular needs of each nongovernmental organization.
